Roop House
Roopville is located very near an old Indian grist milling site known as Goat Rock. The city limits of the little town of Roopville have remained the same since it was chartered in 1885 being 500 yards in every direction from the J. K. Roop House. The Roop House and the Roop Family, for which the town was named, have a long history of philanthropy in the area.
J.K., son of Martin and Elizabeth Roop, became the owner of over 2000 acres of land in the area, much of which he donated to enhance the growth of the Roopville. He built several stores, a mill, a blacksmith shop and homes which he would sell to new people coming into the area. J.K. was a charter member of Roopville Baptist Church, Worshipful Master of Goshen Lodge 71, in 1880 and he served on the Carroll County Board of Education.
Restoration which is now complete began in 2005 with grants from The Community Foundation of West Georgia, Carroll Electric Membership, individuals, and support from the Town of Roopville.
Roopville Archives and Historical Society
Roopville Archive and Historical Society building was previously a bank and a post office.
The Historical Society and Archives are open during the Homecoming Festival on the third weekend in September, and by appointment. They are located at 165 Old Highway 27 in Roopville,replica watches and their mailing address is P.O. Box 285, Roopville, GA 30170.

Roopvillea€?s historic commercial corridor is located within this Historic Town Center Character Area. A handful of these historic commercial buildings such as this one still exist and are in use.
The architecture of these buildings resembles those of the a€?old westa€? with the a€?false-fronta€? and old fashioned advertisements.
